Amerlanchier alnifolia

Red to orange foliage in fall, with small white fragrant flowers in spring. The small, sweet, blue berries ripen by early summer. Excellent provider of food for mammals and birds, while dense growth also provides shelter and root system helpful in preventing erosion. Larval host to species of Swallowtail!
