Prunus pensylvanica
Pin Cherry grows taller than Choke Cherry. It grows well on bedrock alongside the White and Bur Oak in Massassauga Provincial Park. It grows well along shorelines and supplies a vital food source in the fall for migrating birds as its cherries ripen later than the Choke Cherry. Photo credit: California Academy of Sciences
