Pinus resinosa


The red pine is a coniferous tree aptly named because its bark is reddish in colour. It has needles bunched in groups of 2 and its trunk grows slender and straight. Red pine are known for having deep, wide-spread roots, which helps them withstand strong winds. Photo credit: Rebecca Krawczyk.
